This does not slow my system down, updates daily so I feel confident my PC is well protected. It found traces of trojans that Avira would only identify but could not get out. While running Avira my PC became totally infected with Trojans and I had to get AVG to get rid of them completely. I also got RID OF AVIRA! My computer runs much faster and I highly reccommend this freeware protection to anyone
