Reviewer: chris Version: Free CraigsList Reader Pro 4.2.6 Date: Aug 6, 2010 Rating:	Like an earlier reviewer stated, the old version 3.x versions worked great and support was responsive. In the new version you have to restore the searches every time you use it and on numerous occasions I've lost all my searches which is very annoying. Emails to the support team now go unanswered. My brother also ows the product and has the same problems I do and his request for support has gone unanswered. It was his understanding that the developer quit and when he wrote in for support once an employee recommended another product. Avoid this software and save you $$$.

I'm sure there are better products available, and certainly some that have more (some) value for money. My guess is that CraigsPal are not happy to have this tool at their front end. The basic concept is great, but the implementation flies in the face of everything taught about UI design. (BTW I did let them know my thoughts before writing this). The user interface uses a number of non-standard techniques that make it almost impossible to predict how to achieve what you want. The good news is that both an experienced computer user and a novice would be equally challenged. The user manual is extensive, but (I suspect written by a person for whom English is a second language). It lacks an effective description of the user's conceptual model, the modes and feedback. I could go on at length... CraigsPal fails to repaint the screen occasionally - on my machine anyway The interface to the Craigslist search engine seems broken. As far as I can tell if you specify any exclusion term it kind of works... in that it excludes everything regardless of it's actual content. The support team ARE responsive, but in my experience seem to have language problems, or have absolutely no experience with this product. I have twice asked for some better explanation and on both occasions received a precis of the manual - which I HAD read carefully. Summary: UI is non-standard and confusing It's perioding reporting model is hard to understand, and harder to control. The search specification seem to be broken. The manual is poor Support team are not usefully supportive.
