Where did you download the ISO Image to? A live cd is read in memory. Did you follow proper procedures for exiting the program? You don't install an ophcrack live cd. Also, any anti vir prog will read it as malware. The freeware version isn't what it used to be. It doesn't contain the charset required for effective cracking. There are other prog's based on the same process and charsets can be created or invoked by command line. I'm not assuming anything but I am wondering if you used the program properly. It is possible that you got an infected copy with a reboot hacktool invoked. It would be in your restore volume. Try turning off system restore and then run a full scan with Malwarebytes & dr.web's Cureit!. Once you're clean turn system restore back on and create a new restore point. Good luck |

I tried the live CD version. It was not able to crack my password. But that turned out to be the least of my concerns ! I uninstalled the program and a couple of weeks later I keep getting warnings from ZoneAlarm that the program is attempting to restore itself !! I click to option to put it in the virus vault. Why is it doing this ? ZoneAlarm says it is a Trojan. If I knew this I would have tried another program instead. |

| 3.3.1 | Jul 29, 2009 | New Release | This is bugfix release. An issue with the vista_seven tables on 32 bits architecture has been fixed, as well as some stuff related to the audit mode and CSV output. The LiveCD corrects two recurrent problems: the misdetection of the CD on machines having more than one CD drive and memory exhaustion on machines with less RAM (lowram mode). |
